Embroidery
Lastly, we had the choice of adding embroidery to our final product. We learnt to do a few different types of stitching andwe got to use it wherever we wanted on our design.

Screen printing
Once we cut out our Acetate stencils, we used them to do our screen printing. To do screen printing u get screens made of mesh and put the acetate to block the ink where you dont want it to go and material underneath. You put blobs of paint across the top of the mesh where your stencil and matrial are and you use a tool called a Squeegee...smooth, flat tool made of rubber...which you pull firmly down with the paint across your stencil and material, you do this 3 or 4 times.
Once done, Blow dry and iron until completly dry.

Acetate Sheets
Next we had to draw and cut out our design on Acetate sheets. We used this as a stencil for the paint to go into and onto a piece of material. You can get coloured Acetate butwe only used clear. We could've used 3 different colours and we did 1 layer at a time.

Sketches
Next we had to think and sketch ideas for our product. First we did our Concept sketches: What our rough idea was (about 5 different ideas). Then we did our Developed sketches: picking 1 idea and what colours were going to be used and adding detail. Finaly, our Final Design: drawn to scale, with all details wanted, coloured in and finalised.
Design Brief
We had to all write a Deign brief showing what your going to design, why and how you ere going to do it, What the target marget was for the product and the specifications.
